A Word from Lochiehead

This is just a reminder that, as happened last year, we are not holding a Filling Station meeting in December, owing to the busy time of year! We had a great meeting in November, when Nick Crawley, one of the directors of the Filling Station, came to talk to us about the thrill of prayer and about the challenge of reaching a new area of prayer.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”  (Ephesians 6:18)

This is written for YOU.  Nick explained that there are different types of prayer and gave us a simple analogy – they are like fields around our house, nearby ones that are familiar and everyday, like blessings.  We have God’s authority to bless people;  anyone and everyone, your family, your neighbour, your enemy. Further away fields are perhaps asking prayers:  we need to know how to ask for things and above all, we need to ask for what He wants to give us.  And the most distant of all our fields of prayer are the “wrestling” ones – like fasting.  Nick talked to us of days of fasting and prayer as Jesus did.

We then prayed together, with many people singing in tongues – it was a beautiful and holy moment for us all.

We look forward to seeing you in January and I hope you all have a very happy Christmas.
