MARCH MEETING!

Our Filling Station get-together in February was very special, with lovely praise led by the Bridge band and a wonderful talk from Charles Warren, who leads our Filling Station team here in Fife.  He spoke to us of the message in Paul’s letter to the Philippians, Chapter 2, vv 12-16, and expanded on three points:  that God is at work in us, that we should walk in the fear of God and that we should cling to the Word of Life. In all we do, and have to do, it is God who works in us and we must hold fast to our relationship with God.  “Fear of God” is not a fashionable phrase, but there is no doubt, God is an awesome being and our relationship with Him should be tempered by the awareness of His strength and power over us – and therefore in us.  And our lives depend on His Word – Jesus our Saviour of course, but also the Bible – read His Word and hold fast to His truth as we encounter the snags of life.  Use it to navigate our way.

It was a talk that gave us much to think about on the way home and beyond!

Next week, Tuesday March 8th, we have Fred Drummond coming to talk to us.  Fred is National Director of Evangelical Alliance in Scotland as well as serving on the UK leadership team. He was a Church of Scotland minister for 20 years leading both traditional and new churches and starting and pastoring Riverside in Perth for 5 years. He has a postgraduate degree in missional leadership, a diploma in pastoral theology and a Doctorate in new church in a post-modern world. Fred is passionate about story telling, the power of prayer, the gospel and unity for extending the Kingdom of God. He is a well known conference speaker and author of two books – I Spy the Rainbow and All That Jazz. He sits on several boards and committees of church work in Scotland. Fred loves all sports, music, film and books and is married to Caroline and they have two teenage sons.

That’s more information than you normally get from me about our speaker, but I think you will agree he sounds like someone worth listening to!  Please come along on Tuesday 8th to Lochiehead barn near Auchtermuchty (KY14 7EH) at 7.30pm for tea, coffee and homemade cakes, before our start of worship at 8pm.  We finish at about 9.30pm.

I look forward so much to seeing you all there.  (If you’ve never been before, and have been bombarded by my emails for a long time, why don’t you come and see what it’s all about, now that you’ve read this far!  You might enjoy it…)
