Leading Churchman endorses the Filling Station

Leading Anglican Bishop, Rick Thorpe, of Islington, London, has declared his full support for the Filling Station across the UK.  Speaking to Filling Station Director, Richard Fothergill, he said, ‘I am a great supporter of the Filling Station for so many reasons.  It brings fresh excitement to the Christian life and many new people are finding faith through the Filling Station meetings.  Let’s get behind them and let’s have even more!’

Although based in the capital, Bishop Rick has a roving brief across the Church of England to support and encourage all new authentic expressions of Jesus’s church.  He has also been in discussions with his fellow Anglican Bishops as to how more Filling Station meetings can be encouraged, and existing ones expanded.

The Filling Station Trust is delighted that an increasing number of senior church leaders, of various denominations, are endorsing the model of the Filling Station monthly gatherings.  Some 18 new meetings are currently in discussion with the Trust about opening their doors in 2017.
