Times of Refreshing – Gods Spring Rain!
Keynote Speaker : Jon Morgans
Executive Pastor: Bournemouth Community Church
The 2017 series of events starts with a wonderful evening of celebration with local conference speaker Jon Morgans. (pictured right) Jon will be focusing on the subject matter around ‘Gods Spring Rain’.
Looking forward to the year ahead Wessex Filling Station director Brian Edgeley said “The year ahead is going to be a very interesting one indeed. Looking forward we have planned some very exciting events aimed at preparing the church for what is to come in 2018-2020; Jon Morgans, now a local Bournemouth pastor, kicks this 2017 series off for us and the Wessex Filling Station team is really looking forward to hearing what God has to say through him as he has a prophetic edge when ministering.”
Born in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, Jon was the youngest of three children and as he grew he developed a strong sense of the Lord through the witness of Christian parents. In his words:
“I’m so thankful to God it was a Christian house; My parents were hard working and I accepted Christ into my life as a young boy, I was 9. During my teenage years sadly my faith grew colder but at the age of 17 I recommitted my life to Christ”.
After leaving school Jon worked for a Civil Engineering Consultancy entering the business as a trainee technician. He studied hard and rose through the ranks to become a fully qualified Chartered Civil Engineer, a Chartered Manager and a Fellow in the Chartered Management Institute.
In the early 1990’s he met and married Mandy around the same time that he became involved in Church Leadership for the first time. By 2004 he had entered into the Pastorate as a non-stipendiary Pastor in a church in Shrewsbury, the county town of Shropshire. During this busy period he was ‘tent-making’ as St Paul calls it, working in Flood Risk Management locally plus running a young family. However, God was working deeply in His life and in 2008 he responded to an invitation to go into full-time ministry as Senior Pastor at New Life International Church in Aberdeen, and moved with his family to the Granite City in Scotland. This proved to be an anointed ministry and a time of real spiritual growth in Jon’s life, in stepping out in faith they witnessed much and saw God move in power. Jon was recognised as a Prophet in the Body of Christ and over the next 6 years they witnessed significant growth, and a great move of God. Jon says of this time:
“It was a period of great blessing for me personally and for the church. A highlight was working with brother *Namjin Kim [of the Korean UK Prayer Mission see below ] in 2013 – we were greatly blessed by the visit of Korean Students, the University Principle and the Church’s Senior Pastor – Aberdeen City Council held a civic reception which enabled us to pray for 30 minutes in the Council Chamber, we prayed that decisions there would be blessed by God and that Aberdeen would be changed”.
In August 2015 Jon was called to be the Executive Pastor at Bournemouth Community Church serving alongside Pastor Roger Constantine. Like all new pastorates, moving his life and family from the grey granite coast of Aberdeen to the sunny coastline of Bournemouth held is challenges but Gods hand of approval was upon it and the whole family made the move. Jon is passionate about motivating the church to move forwards in the Supernatural Power of God as they step into our their new identity in Christ. “God is moving at BCC, the potential here is incredible! God is at work in Bournemouth“, says Jon.
Jon is a son, a brother, husband, a father, a pastor and conference speaker. He has spoken at the Apostolic Church’s AblazeUK annual conference, the Combined Midlands Churches Conference and Christian Vision for Men (CVM) Conference called simply: ‘The Gathering’.
With such a rich heritage and years of experience to speak from, why not diary the event and plan to come along the January 2017 event and hear what he has to say about ‘Gods Spring Rains’…
“Rain down Your Spirit Lord and quench this thirsty land. Let is rain Lord, let it rain…”
