Unstopping the Wells ~ of Prayer, Mission and Resource.
Keynote Speaker : Gail Dixon
Missions Director: Nations Trust
As God is motivating us to worship together across the Bournemouth conurbation a number of key themes have come into focus: prayer, worship and mission. As we have planned meetings for the Wessex Filling Station the first of these elements has tilled the soil as a precursor to both worship and mission. We are excited to welcome Gail Dixon as Keynote speaker for March 2017 as she has a vast practical experience of each element and the outworking of all three.
Gail Dixon is Missions Director at Nations Trust in Llanelli, Wales. She has been involved in Christian Missionary work for over 35 years and is an ordained minister in International Gospel Outreach: an interdenominational mission looking to spread the good news of Jesus Christ throughout the world.
Gail met the Lord as a student at St David’s University Lampeter (now part of University of Wales Trinity Saint David) in 1978 from where she graduated with a BA honours degree in English Literature. However God had other plans for her and began to birth a passion in her heart for mission and ministry.
During 1980 she became one of the founding members of an international mission movement ‘World Horizons’ a praying, prophetic, pioneering and pastoral mission movement. World Horizons exists on behalf of places and people not yet prayed for, churches not yet planted and cross-cultural workers not yet sent. During her 17 years working for World Horizons she was the Missionary and team leader in North Africa (1983-1987); then she became part of the International Leadership team based back home in UK.
As World Horizons grew into a large multinational mission movement a group was set up within it called ‘Nations’, whose aim was to help start and nurture young missionary movements in Central African Republic, Lesotho, the Middle East and Korea. By 1997 this work separated from World Horizons and became Nations Trust as it was felt that it was best to operate independently as a sister mission movement both legally and practically.
