Summer sizzler

We had an amazing meeting on July 28th when Rob Jones spoke to us about the incredible success of the New Wine Cymru Mission to Wales, an initiative of street evangelism across Wales a few weeks previously, which saw 125 churches taking part, and 3,351 people make a commitment to Christ there and then on the street. Rob headed up the mission in the Valleys region, and he shared many testimonies of those who had responded to Christ. The personal testimonies were very moving and inspirational. Rob oversees a number of church plants in the Valleys, including Encounter House in Aberbargoed. He brought with him one of their younger leaders, Rhys Roberts, who shared his own very moving testimony of how he had felt led to resign from his well paid job to give himself full time to the ministry of church leadership, starting from Sept 1st. His testimony had such an impact on the meeting that we felt led to pray for Rhys there and then, and a number of people committed to supporting him financially. For those who would like to do so, full details can be obtained from Rob Jones at robjones142@hotmail.co.uk.  The leadership team at Aberbargoed are setting up a Stewardship account for Rhys and Beccy, which means that all contributions from UK  taxpayers with be automatically gift aided.

We also welcomed to Glasbury that evening, Open Door, a group of musicians from different churches, who led us in our worship. Their ministry was greatly appreciated. We look forward to our next meeting on Friday Sept 29th when the speaker will be our own Rupert Clark Lewis. Come and join us. You will be very welcome.
