October Meeting
James Cary, well-known as a comedy script writer, was the speaker at our October meeting. He spoke on Mark 10 verses 17-22 where a rich man meets up with Jesus but is not prepared to give up his wealth to follow the Lord. One interesting analogy in the talk was the difference between sit-coms and movies. In sit-coms the characters usually do not change at all, whereas in some movies there can be a radical change – and it is clear that when we meet with our Lord Jesus, we must be prepared to “break free” from ourselves and to focus entirely on what the Lord wants us to do.
