Matthew Street, a vicar based at Peasedown St John, was our March speaker. His talk, entitled “seven washing cycles”, was from 2 Kings chapter 5 and focused on the amazing transformation of Naaman and his healing from leprosy and also made clear reference to all the seven people involved in the story. This passage has much that is absolutely relevant to us and there are certain things that happen that we must not do, but also ways in which we must put our trust in God and be focussed on serving Him. It is clear that we need to develop our faith in God and also must try to become clear witnesses to people we know who are not committed Christians. Also, if we are suffering with difficulties in our lives – just as Naaman was with leprosy – then we must turn to God for all his wisdom and direction.
