May meeting
Our speaker in May was Jilly Lyon-Taylor. She gave a very encouraging talk based on Romans 8 verse 15 on how we are adopted as sons of God the Father, and went on to ask the question of whether we are living in and enjoying the full inheritance which God offers us; or are we standing just outside the door feeling that there are further conditions to be met. Jilly illustrated this with the different responses of the two sons in the story of the prodigal son in Luke chapter 15 which has many positives about what we should do – and also clarity about what we must not do. It was also clear that we will receive a wonderful inheritance from our God.
