June Meeting
Our speaker in June was Kevin Roberts, who has been involved in evangelical Anglican ministry for many years and is now director of ReSource, that works for the renewal of people and churches for mission in the power of the Holy Spirit – across all traditions, churches and denominations. His talk was very much based on Ezekiel chapter 47 which gives a clear picture of the flowing of the “river” of the Holy Spirit and which is clearly linked to John chapter 7 verse 38 where we are reminded that the rivers of living water flow out of those who believe in the Lord Jesus and that we can benefit from the Holy Spirit in many ways, not least to transform us into Christ’s likeness and that the Spirit will enable us to do difficult things that we might not expect to be able to do. Also the church must let the water out for God’s work to be done. It was very encouraging to learn more about how the Holy Spirit can work with in us and enable us to serve God really well.
