Silas Crawley was our speaker at the February meeting. His talk was centred on Luke chapters 9 and 10 which helped us to understand what we must do to help us serve God and to develop the wonderful Kingdom of God. Four of the elements we must seek had the letters SLAP – S for “simplicity” which reminds us of how we must focus on what God wants us to do; L for “Love” which emphasises Jesus’ wonderful love for us and the salvation we have through his death and resurrection; A for “authority” and as a believer in God we know that we must relate to God’s authority; P is for “power” which reminds us of the unique power that God has and how we can turn to God for all the power we need to serve Him. All these things are essential for us – and we must also be prepared to take God’s wonderful kingdom to the places where we live and work and we are all qualified to do this.
Our next meeting is on Friday March 8th and the speaker is Rev Matthew Street who is the team rector based in Peasedown St John.
