Helen Azer

We’re back.  After a brief summer break our next Filling Station service is on Tuesday of next week, 10th September.  And we have a special speaker to open our new session

Helen Azer is from Heartcry for Change in Oxford and she will be speaking on Time to Re-set.

Helen was last with us in June 2018 and has been a very welcome guest speaker at The Filling Station over the years and become quite a favourite.  Her picture is attached to this email.

A little bit more about Helen:

Helen was born in England but grew up in Egypt where she lived for the first sixteen years of her life. On a year abroad in Germany for her university degree course studying the history of the Reformation, Helen felt God’s call to full-time Christian ministry.  She trained at Wycliffe Hall theological college, Oxford, and was ordained in 2004.  Helen is called especially to train and equip the Church and desires to enable Christians to become radical lovers of Jesus who are informed, articulate and confident communicators of their faith.

Helen is the UK Director of Heartcry for Change and has been part of the itinerant ministry team for over ten years. Helen loves to read, travel and drink (good!) coffee while people watching!  She is the co-author of Release My Frozen Assets: a look at the role of women in the church published by Heartcry for Change.

The date is this coming Tuesday, 10th September;  the venue – Box Methodist Church; starting time 7.30p.m.  Please put us in your diary now.

We invite everyone to the prayer time at the beginning of the Service when, traditionally, the organising team, the band  and the guest speaker have a time of prayer before the Service starts, sometimes in the band area and sometimes at the back of the Church.  We are throwing open this special time to anyone who wants to join us and who can get there by 7.20p.m.  So, there will be an invitation to everyone in the Church to join in 10 minutes of prayer just before the Service starts at 7.30p.m.
