January Meeting
Our speaker in January was James Cary, a well-known comedy script writer, but he also does a great deal of Christian work. His talk was based on John 3 verses 1-16 and it was wonderful to hear so much about Jesus – and to see how a Pharisee named Nicodemus wanted to find out about Jesus. It is clear that we, too, need to ensure that we follow Jesus in all we do and whenever it is possible, we should be prepared to be witnesses to others about Lord Jesus and all he has done for us. Verse 16 in this chapter is a wonderful verse that reminds us of all that God has done for us: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse is a great reminder to us of how God helps us – and it is a reminder of what we need to ensure other people can understand.
Our next meeting is on Friday February 14th and the speaker is Mike Tate, who has worked for the Filling Station and is now based in Cornwall.
