May 2020 – John Marrow
We held our first online meeting which went very well with over 30 people attending. We used Zoom and allowed people to interact at points during the meeting. This enhanced the feeling of a meeting rather than simply listening to someone speak. We started with a song and then had various testimonies, all of which were encouraging.
John Marrow, the curate at St Andrews, then spoke, encouraging us to have a new willingness to speak about our faith. There are four reasons to do this:
1. Because it proves the church believes what it says.
2. Because faith sharing is about homecoming to God.
3. Because faith in Jesus gives people life in fullness.
4. Because we are called. We are witnesses of these things.
Jesus is calling us to be on fire for Him and transform our community – let’s go out in His name.
John’s talk was followed with a time of responsive prayer and we then finished the meeting listening to the UK Blessing. We then allowed people to stay and chat, which a number did.
