September 2020 – Hugo Anson
Hugo Anson shared with us about walking with Jesus. He used Jeremiah 6:16 as his reference
“The Lord said to his people: “You are standing at the crossroads. So consider your path. Ask where the old, reliable paths are. Ask where the path is that leads to blessing and follow it. If you do, you will find rest for your souls.” But they said, “We will not follow it!””
God told the people this at a time when things were going wrong for Israel. The best road was where most people walked on. They were encouraged to walk in the paths that had worked for them. We need to put ourselves in the places where the saints have walked before. We are in a society where we like to try new things. This even happens in church. But sometimes the old ways work well.
Some of the old paths that we should walk are:
*Scripture. We need to read scripture regularly.
*Creation. Learning lessons from creation.
*Spending time with people.
*Speaking in tongues.
*Thankfulness. Changes us from being miserable to being someone who is nice to be around. Our spirit rises.
