“What came into Existence was Life. And the Life was Light to live by.

The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn’t put it out.”

John 1.  The Message

Richard Fothergill, the Filling Station Founder says, “The vision I had was on September 5th 2003.  We walked up Kelston round hill on a clear blue-sky day and started praying there.  I saw in the spirit (not an open-eyed vision) a thick black mist (2 Cor 4.4) covering the landscape.  The sun above was shining and represented the Lord.    The whirlwinds started from the ground up and broke through the mist – shafts of sunlight could then get through to the land beneath.  The whirlwind locations were where people were simply worshipping & praying – proclaiming that Jesus is Lord.  It was spiritually powerful and changed the landscape.  The unconverted people could then look up and were reminded that the Lord exists, is good and that they could have a relationship with him!

Each ‘whirlwind site’ was a Filling Station I have later understood.  Our mandate is therefore to set these groupings up and help people do exactly that – to worship & pray for their areas.  We do more now of course as the vision has been worked out to include, evangelism, teaching, renewal of existing faith and resourcing the local church.”

This year has been extremely tough for many of us, family, and friends.  Sadly, and understandably, we have not been able to continue our meetings and enjoy these special times together since 21 February.

We are praying, waiting, and hoping for changing circumstances to be able to meet again.  Meanwhile, a reflection from Ruth Carter Stapleton, “Christmas is most truly Christmas when we celebrate it by giving the light of love to those who need it most.”
