Tuesday 9th November – Bronwyn Oborne

Isn’t it wonderful to be worshipping together “in-person” again!   Our next gathering will be this Tuesday 9th November meeting in the Box Methodist Church.  Coffee and cakes from 7.00pm and aiming to start worship at 7.30.

This month we are delighted to welcome back Bronwyn Oborne as our guest speaker.

Bronwyn lives in Box and is known to many of us as a wise and gracious lady who walks with God.  She will be talking about Psalm 23 – The Lord is my Shepherd – perhaps the most famous of all the psalms, and a rock and comfort for so many people, especially in the recent hard times.

The evening will begin with a time of worship and we are delighted to welcome Susanna Downes who will be leading the music this month.

The Filling Station is an informal “café-style” evening where we seek to:

  • ENCOUNTER God – especially in worship. We want to be open to, and led by, the Holy Spirit more fully, with each person able to contribute openly to worship, using spiritual gifts, sharing scriptures, giving words from God and expressing praise.
  • ENCOURAGE one another – welcoming newcomers and connecting with each other as well as with God.
  • Be EQUIPPED as the people of God. We hope that Christians who may feel hard-pressed would find themselves energised and “filled up”, ready to take up the challenges of following Christ in our everyday lives and church involvement.

Please be assured we will be implementing comprehensive COVID risk management measures to ensure we have a safe and welcoming environment for us to meet together in the Methodist Church building. Learning from the evenings we had in the last two months, we are changing the arrangements in the hall slightly to ensure sensible social distancing –  please don’t be offended if a team member asks you not to move the chairs which will have been carefully spaced out!

We’re really looking forward to sharing worship with you all together again and hope to see you on Tuesday evening.
