Event Details

Chris Oldroyd will be speaking.
Formerly Managing Director of a property company group and 29 year Army Reservist, Chris was ordained in 1985. Hard work turned a traditional church around resulting in its doubling in size within five years gathering a reputation as one of the diocese’s leading evangelical/charismatic churches. He started bi-monthly training and celebration events in his local town which attracted some 300 people from across the South of England where many grew in faith, spiritual gifts and ministry. He was for some time Alpha rep for the South East.

He ‘retired’ from parish ministry and with his wife Fran and their two children moved to another town to plant a church, initially with Bishop David Pytches as their reference point. Becoming a full time ministry in 1992 the church grew from two people to 250 and became the first in the UK to be adopted as a Vineyard church. Many came to know the Lord, were filled with His Spirit, trained and sent out on missions in the UK and abroad and to plant churches. A good number went on to lead churches, start ministries and take senior positions in their next church.

Chris gave up leadership of the church in 2002 to continue mentoring an increasing number of ministers throughout the UK and abroad. He spent some time rebuilding an ailing city church which is now flourishing. He and Fran returned to mainly Anglican ministry where Chris is a core team member of ReSource, the successor of Anglican Renewal Ministries. He devotes his time to teaching and training and to mentoring leaders; church development and strategy are of particular importance to him. He has had the privilege of seeing God save, heal and empower hundreds of people and rejoices to see Him continue to do so.
