Shofar so good
Our January meeting started with an amazing testimony of faith from one of our older friends who shared how God had challenged her to dip herself 7 times in the river, just as Naaman did in the OT. Despite being in her eighties and the fact that it was midwinter, she obeyed God and as a result was completely healed from a skin condition that had caused extreme pain for many years. After a beautiful time of worship, our guest speaker Penny Williams began by blowing the Shofar and reminding us how so often in the Old Testament God caused someone to blow the Shofar to bring peoples’ attention to God. She quoted Isaiah 43:19 where it says, “See I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up. Do you not perceive it?” She quoted examples of what God is doing around the world, particularly through the ministry of Rolland and Heidi Baker, whose ministry has been transforming the country of Madagascar, one life, one act of God’s power and love, at a time. We were inspired and challenged to join God’s army in changing the world one life at a time. We look forward to our next meeting on Friday Feb 23rd when our guest speaker will be Phil Arnold from Hereford.
