Tuesday 8th June – Revd Dr Janet Anderson-MacKenzie – “Worship like you mean it!”

The Filling Station in Box is continuing to meet “online” on the second Tuesday of each month and will be on YouTube again this Tuesday 8th June for our next meeting from 7.30PM on our YouTube channel TFS BOX.

Our guest speaker this month is Revd Dr Janet Anderson-Mackenzie.

For those who have been following our online meetings through the pandemic you will recognise Janet from the wonderful interviews she recorded with Vanessa Naish last summer and with Kathy Larkman this January.  Janet is Priest-in-charge of the Lidbrook Group of churches in Box, Ditteridge and Colerne. Originally from Ware in Hertfordshire, she moved to Edinburgh in 1989 where she studied for a BSc(Hons) and PhD in Biochemistry, then moved to Bristol at the end of 1996 where she worked as a postdoctoral researcher until 2003 and trained for ordination (and had two daughters).

Janet’s theology MA dissertation was in ‘The common search for meaning in Alternative Worship and Dance Club culture’. She says that a whole new theological world was opened up to her in the Baja beach club in Newcastle!  Her talk on Tuesday will open up the excitement of corporate worship when we gather together in fellowship.  As the COVID restrictions start to lift we are longing to worship together again and Janet’s talk will encourage us to “Worship like you mean it!”.

Do join us at 7.30pm on our YouTube channel TFS BOX If you would like items for prayer, or have messages to share,  please contact us either by email at  box@thefillingstation.org or via our Facebook page TFS Box  http://www.facebook.com/thefillingstationbox/
